Conversation

Two kinds of hackers. Hackers who hack their way into conversations they are not supposed to be in. Hackers who make objects do things they’re not supposed to be capable of.

A lot of what I do is actually the first kind of hacking. 🤔 Doesn’t feel that way since I don’t actively scheme “how do I get a seat at that table/a voice in that conversation?” More like I just talk and sometimes accidentally say things people decide they must try to co-opt.

People overestimate the extent to which conversations they’re having in private are actually privileged and dependent on private knowledge for getting to useful places. It’s like having a private road to X and learning there’s also a public road and someone is point to it.
