In other news I’m now a seriously short-term thinker. Time horizons comfort range from 1h to 1 week. <4h and >1 week =stress. Last time I had a 1y horizon was 2014. Last time I had a 2y+ horizon was 2009.

feels like these three charts, side-by-side, would be an interesting way to visualize the history of someone’s work life:
> change in length of time horizon over time
> striving, surviving, suffering, slacking
> exploration, play, muddling through, project

I’ve been trying to come up with a horizon visualization for years. Not happy with any of my ideas. All too technical, not poetic enough

It’s fine, it just doesn’t do anything for me. It’s not horizon charts for the sake of horizon charts that are interesting. I generally need a chart I make to capture some non-trivial insight about the phenomenon, or theory about horizons.
