In other news I’m now a seriously short-term thinker. Time horizons comfort range from 1h to 1 week. <4h and >1 week =stress. Last time I had a 1y horizon was 2014. Last time I had a 2y+ horizon was 2009.

feels like these three charts, side-by-side, would be an interesting way to visualize the history of someone’s work life:
> change in length of time horizon over time
> striving, surviving, suffering, slacking
> exploration, play, muddling through, project

I’ve been trying to come up with a horizon visualization for years. Not happy with any of my ideas. All too technical, not poetic enough

Age definitely plays a role. The infant has a very short time horizon. At the other end of the age spectrum, horizons shorten again, because, mortality.
