Another subtle thing past a certain point is you start getting included in tediously similar lists of people to follow, and a weird preferential attachment feedback loop kicks in and you unconsciously start conforming to “bundle expectations”

As in, “hey I’m apparently in the startup-scene commentariat economy pack and there’s cues and prompts in my mentions on scooters so I must weigh in on scooters.” Hive mind homogenization via uniform expectations. The divergence and variety of interactions starts to converge.

I don’t actually have anything in common with most of my bundle peers besides being on the same lists, and I suspect there’s a cost to being in that kind of aggregated attention spotlight. It’s like we all bought into certain reach groupons.
