I’ve had a few near-miss normal accidents this year that’s put the fear of entangled complexity into me. Came within a hair of extreme clusterfuck.

Strongly advise people to be extra careful during chaotic activity spikes like moving or dealing with a family medical emergency. That’s exactly when you’re also likely to lose bags with documents etc. Compounding snowballing crises.

Learn that the new activity is the sole focus. Down time is for self and relationship with partner. Everything else is on idlem

Yes, we’re learning that the hard way. This is the first of our elder care crisis events. At least 3 more to go for sure 😕

I am sorry. These are very difficult, be kind and gentle to yourselves in the off hours .

Yeah trying my best. I’m good at taking breaks and pacing myself. Wife has a tendency to go nonstop and run herself into exhaustion. I’ve been on her to take breaks etc. She’s been at her dad’s bedside for 10 days now and I’m not surprised she forgot the bag.

So sorry! The advice I give myself in demanding medical situations is, manage to your energy not to the to do list. That said, I never seem to be able to take my own advice.

Spoon theory I guess. Though sometimes the minimum must-do list has you running way past empty and then you get sick after the crisis as body crashes.
Yes there will often be a crash after the crisis so you can't return immediately to precrash state. Respect a physical and mental recovery period which can be weeks, months or longer depending on what you went through. Your body and brain are undergoing physical repair.
