"When you have a hammer in your hand, everything looks like a nail" is especially bad when the hammer in question is a grievance seeking resolution. It's like metastasized functional fixedness around Universal Grievance Machine.

What I've called Dark Tetrad topics are where the biggest UGMs operate. These are such broadly salient topics that anything can be looked at through a dark tetrad lens. That doesn't mean it is a good idea or will lead to useful or interesting results.

There's a sort of Dark Tetrad of topics: social identity, intelligence, religion, and genetics-and-culture. People who only ever talk about those 4 things... I tend to run from them. For mental health, those topics should not consume >20% of your intellectual bandwidth.
