I used to write a lot more "how the world works" type posts on ribbonfarm, but now I mostly put that kind of thinking here on twitter and half-ass it rather than working it out with more care in essay form. I think it's a sort of downgrading/commoditizing.

Compression. You're playing jazz with ferret notes, or writing Japanese calligraphy with more hasty strokes. Those who can hear the music or read the poem, can. Those who can't, can't. It's not you, it's the general demise of web "sites" as the last bastion of publishing.

"How the world works" is that it gets out of bed and half-asses it Every. Single. Day. So perfectly appropriate, imo. 😐

This post was wild. Makes me think I could act as if I have a little man in my head and, with enough awareness, I can choose a framework to operate in as long as I can cut through the noise of life. What contexts do you plan more in?
