That's what knowledge engineering has always faced. Cyc involved entering vast amounts of knowledge. Is a carpet on the floor of an office, or part of the floor? (Actual discussion). But keeping knowledge current is a continual cost, and contextualizing by time is hard.

I am confused by the term situational here, bc I would have thought it refers to rather immediate situatedness on physical, or everyday life level (in a waiting room, etc.), but you apply it to situatedness in a complex field of knowledge. I think in any case it's a continuum..

"Situatedness within a complex field of knowledge" is a good way of putting it. I think of it this way: K = identification SA = calibration SA allows you to calibrate the incoming information in terms of "importance." Without SA, you're not really in 'alignment' with field.
