Hedgehogs in Isaiah Berlin’s sense have a stronger halo effect (on-stage charisma or as talking heads etc) according to Philip Tetlock’s research. They are much more persuasive but slightly less accurate in their forecasting than foxes.

Knowing “one big thing” makes for a lot more compelling stage authority than many little things. I suspect foxes are better conversationalists. I’m definitely more fun chatting in a group of a few people than on stage.
