The migration of monarch butterflies is completed by 4 generations is a classic example. Among humans - there is evidence of phobias. anxiety and post traumatic disorders affecting DNA/genetics that gets passed on. Believe it is called Trangenerational epigenetic inheritance.

Don’t know if this counts, or is even true but, to learn by tasting. An infant’s sense of taste develops in utero. Not sure if this explains why they put everything in their mouths, or if this is a memory but it made me think.

Air raid sirens?
-
Tornado sirens. If you grew up “Tornado Alley,” you would hear sirens go off when tornados were seen close to town. As a kid, while visiting family friends in Melun, FR, air raid sirens from WWII were being tested. Same note.

I’ve heard/read about inter generational trauma... maybe not the same. And have you witnessed spawning salmon? Hard for me to imagine a richer example. Monarch butterflies.
