It’ll take just 1-2 hot companies on unicorn paths choosing to hire/grow outside Bay Area to trigger an exodus. Proximity to capital is no longer as valuable since capital is cheap. Enough talent wants to leave. Supposed “cultural capital” is turning to nimby wars + urban blight.

but most still try to do their core growth in SV afaik... very few choose to move their center of gravity outside

I dunno man, they really already have been. Most of Stripe is outside of the bay area.

I'd bet against this. Sounds like the kind of thing people have been saying for years, meanwhile the rich will keep getting richer (the status of the area, not just the literally rich people).
