This is my conversational account. For my work follow @ribbonfarm, @breaking_smart, @artofgig. Tweets are 90% vacuous views, apathetically held. Mediocritopian.

A very compact way to explain mediocrity philosophy is this: non-attachment to finite games (5 words). Unfortunately those who can’t process the Carse reference will almost certainly misunderstand it. Carse references are like dependencies on a major library.

apparently I came to an adjacent realization without having read carse's work or even knowing who he washttps://twitter.com/granderojo/status/1123732277375193089?s=09 …

the real key to life is distinguishing the finite games from the infinite games, I wonder if someone has written about this?

Are you sure you’re talking about the same thing? Carse is not finite/infinite in the game theoretic sense but a mostly unrelated metaphysical sense.

I would say his work is less metaphysical and more surface level which is fine

That comment makes me suspect you’re overestimating the depth of your comprehension and missing much of what the book has to say.

I'll give it another try. I completely accept that I might have been misreading it. I was just nodding along a lot when I did try to read his popular book
