I hereby issue the *real* bottle cap challenge: do it with the bottle visibly resting on a flat surface without any vertical bracing. Bonus points: empty bottle. Double bonus, fully tightened.
Full disclosure: I fail to get bottle caps off even the normal way 10% of the time

Triple bonus: one glass bottle only, and resting at a height so it breaks if it falls. One take, no do overs. OR show us the pile of broken bottles after you get one right.

I wonder what sets off our bs detectors in stuff like this. In my case, I’m guessing any kick strong enough to apply standard bottle cap torque via ordinary friction will also be applying a normal force large enough to knock a freestanding bottle over https://www.kinexcappers.com/faq/torque-guidelines.htm …
