Repair mavens: I have this tightly stuck screw with a stripped philips head holding a ceiling fan blade to ritir. It’s slightly under rotor rim so screwdriver can only get at it at a slight angle off vertical. How do I get it off? A rubber band hack from YouTube didn’t work.

1. Use a small metal file or metal saw to notch the cap of the screw and then use a flat tip which is easier to use off centre. 2. Use a plain philips bit with a wrench to create something that resembles a right angle screwdriver, similar to this:

if you can remove the other blades, couldn't you just pack in a long-ish box? If possible try with a pozi bit, they are flatter and more stable for a worn out head. I imagine theres not much you can do to improve purchase other than push down from an efficient position.
