Part of the problem here is that.... learning is far more aspirational than practical. People love the *idea* of learning far more than they like the hard work (and time commitment!) of *actual learning*.

But also - that's kind of the point... The trick is not to confuse content consumption with learning. No one is trying to teach "everyone" quantum computing. The trick is to make it more enjoyable and more effective for those that *do* want to learn.

If you get serious about building this, we should chat. I spent ~4 years building basically this with a team of half a dozen people, and got quite far with all the feature ideas you’re thinking about. Made most of the mistakes it’s possible to make 😂

I'm..... not very serious. At least not yet. I think this "guided" approach is an evolutionary dead end. Trying to play around to discover a better paradigm.

I think a guided approach could work in the same way a drip campaign does. The different here is creating a “place” this could exist on the web (vs their inbox) that maps to where the user is at, and perhaps only lets them see the step they’re on vs. everything at once.

We’re working in this space at egghead. We’ve only focused on video so far, but the basic premise is to combine what we already do well with text, interactive exercises, assessment, and spaced repetition into a “learning graph” for web developers.
