When many people have a hard time admitting something can do *any* harm, there's almost always a group who can't admit that the thing can do *any* good.
Both are fixated on the thing being overall-good-valence or overall-bad-valence.

Does anybody argue that monism precedes dualism in a stadial/developmental sense? I have a hard time not seeing dualism as the primordial reality.

Ah ok. Are you mapping monism —> dualism to Jaynes here in cognitive sense or more post-bronze-age textualized philosophy sense?
I’d speculate monist egregores come later than dualist but monist minds probably come first both historically, and ontogenically for modern humans

oh no - monism is the hippie “all is one” bullshit, dualism is the “universe is a battle between good and evil” bullshit
