How much you care = (size of identity)*(intensity of identity) A weak identity is one that doesn’t care much. Examples of strong ones: parents, founders, star athletes, poets

“How you care” is a vector. A bit of the world (magnitude) and fate you wish for it (direction) Eg. Child —> grow and thrive Alpha Centauri —> become better understood by humans Mars —> become colonized by humans Caring about X *is* having a preference for future of X
