27% of women (n=109) and 32% of men (n=885) have read hitchhikers guide in this corner of twitter. Or in other words, 0.84 women have read it for every man. What would be an equivalent good test book by a female author for this crowd? Ursula Le Guin? J. K. Rowling?

I had the stereotype in my head that women are more likely to read fantasy, and men more likely to read science fiction. Maybe ask about Terry Pratchett?

I think the right converse question is men reading sci-fi by women authors, since original motive was remark by woman friend that hhg seemed like a “guy thing”
