Sad to see how few people vote “good for us” and bad for world. US may well gain from the trade war, but in the long run their retreat from a rules-based order is super bad news for all the mice at the feet of the elephants Like my country – Australia

It's predatory capitalism in a highly refined form. Drive prices down, buy, ease trade restrictions. It's a clowns guide to pumping a market. "Who loves china more than me?"

It'll be the demise of rule of law in international trade. Establishment of a set of rules that 160+ WTO member countries agreed to abide by was a remarkable achievement in human civilisation, but the trade war will see those rules being tragically disregarded
