0/ Thread with borderline spoilery opinions re Avengers: Endgame that might eventually feature actual spoilers. I’ll stay borderline for a couple more weeks though. Still, mute this thread if you haven’t seen it.

7/ You can take your arthouse mumblecore whatever movie or super-sensitively acted Oscar darling movie and and cram it wherever your species traditionally crams things
I’ll take camp-baroque summer blockbuster exurban sprawl any day over that stuff

I appreciate the scope of the writing if it's as large as you're saying. Have actually never seen one (MCU) except for Iron Man and the 1st Capt America (& 1st xmen). I hear lots of good things. Dont know what it is it just looks banal.

What's impressive about the MCU is the $4,000,000,000 spent mostly on special effects. Weaving narratives together is, frankly, just not as hard as you think, especially when the weaving is as, uh, loose, as the MCU often is. Any computer game with multiple campaigns does it.

Like, if you think the NARRATIVE engineering of the MCU is what's impressive about it, you should be even MORE impressed by the Marvel comic book universe. But you're not, I'd guess.

I was thinking "Mahabharatha" too, but no one in Hollywood would give a fuck about it and Bollywood would just fuck it up. :(
