Figured out what strikes me as creepy about domestic cozy and Gen Z yesterday. It’s the juxtaposition of unironic traditionalism and youth. I think I didn’t see this earlier because I didn’t stop to ask what traditionalism is. I confused it with political/cultural conservatism.
Search space is unmanageably large AND there’s a tempting way to cut right to *some* solution that seems to work: trial-and-error.

The Gen Z search space seems unimaginably small to me. Constrained by high costs of (questionable) education, housing and medical care, they have few options beyond what their hands can create. They remind me of the generations of 30s: few options for real engagement.
