might also be because early exposure to truly existential questions. Not even x-risk shit like climate change or AI, just constant availability to information about possibilities overwhelms you and forces you into asking big questions most people put off until later life

I think we're just at the very beginning of hashing out new folk assumptions for how to live in a post-industrial world and this sorta stuff is just par for the course as obviously outdated values dissolve as we try to figure a base set of assumptions that align with reality

woah, spot on. i also want to see the good in this but i think it’s maladaptive & defeatist it prematurely shuts down discourse, cutting off paths to collaboration on creative ideas i admittedly exhibited more of this until ~2yrs ago. i think it’s also unfortunately contagious
