Have you ever read Pandora Sequence book trilogy by Frank Herbert? I think you’d really like it. It’s a mix of really weird, profound, and clever in equal measure

Prequel book Destination:Void is, very mystical and mostly unintelligible account of the birth of an AI. Following 3 books which are part of Pandora Seq are more accessible, because Herbert worked with a collaborator Bill Ransom who was more practical

I loved Dune but ditched followup books as they got too mystical. Interestingly, in this series he seems to have gone the opposite direction. Mystical AI birth followed by more concrete and entertaining adventures on the planet it created

Are any past the 1st book worth it? I fell head over heels for the first book and hastily completed it over my annual fiction reading holiday (christmass). I want to be a Bene Gesserit.
