I’ve extracted a few newsletters out of tweets (made easier by the fact that my newsletter default format is a Twitter-like thread) but I’ve never extracted a good blog post out of tweets. A good blog post must begin as a post, even if there’s an annealing phase on Twitter.

A twitter —> blog port has the feel of a TV show ported to movies. Trying to draft a thread like a blog post and then fake live-tweeting is a made-for-TV movie. TV is more context aware and with short arc >> long arc. Movies create their own context and long arc >> short arc.

Extended-universe movies were a response to “golden” age tv having movie-level production quality. They retreated upmarket to long-arc strengths by creating many levels of long arcs. Golden age tv has a lot of texture but is max 1.5 level so far: Weak season arc + monster of week

Marvel TV universe almost worked (Defenders)... they probably pulled the plug for dumb corporate conflict reasons. DC TV universe (Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow) was more crossoverish than shared universe.

Not ALL long-form TV is procedural+ (ie monster of week). GTO is not. Barry is not. On networks, Quantico Seasons 1 and 2 were not. But, yeah, that's the easy route you're always going to revert to (Quantico S3, Agents of SHIELD) unless forced otherwise.
