And also, I need a better term than GSCITC... but something without baggage. Hive mind, borg, AGI, efficient narrative marketplace... all the terms I've been able to think of have inappropriate or misleading connotations.

For those who came in late... this train of thought began with my Against Waldenponding newsletter last year

The Waldenponding newsletters were Oct 2018 and April 2019. I think I first broached this topic even earlier in this newsletter. Your Passport to the Metabrain (Jan 2017). Shit, this has been on my 2nd brain for a long time.

The cost of being in gonzo mode online is admittedly quite high. The effect on more retreated modes of production (essays, books, products) is very noticeable. My best thinking in the last few years has been on twitter, but the reach is far lower than my blog or newsletter

Do you want to record a podcast episode about this tweet?

nah, this is too early stage thinking for me to talk coherently about in audio media

Understood and accept but want to add that for me conversation can bring out tangential ideas and further solidify thinking around areas of interest.

Yeah I realize that. It's never done that for me. I've rarely gotten much of that kind of value out of my podcast appearances, so when I do it, it tends to be for promoting more fully baked stuff.

Does it work that way only with podcast interviews or non-recorded conversations with a friend in addition to interviews? Just curious....

Podcast stuff. I find private 1:1 talking with a small handful of people I've gotten mind-melded with over years very useful. But then the output is only valuable to the two of us and incomprehensible to anyone else.

Not to toot my own horn, but I would describe my strength as an interviewer as being able to mind meld with people within 5 minutes of meeting or so....

I’m sure you are. All people who’ve had me on their podcasts have been great at that on their end. I’m the slow party. Some other time/topic 🙂
