A rather weird chapter in my education is that though I used regular PCs in high school until 1992, my CS 101 college course in 1993 was fortran on a CDC Cyber mainframe running an awful OS called NOS/VE. Most useless learning ever. Wrote a tic-tac-toe program as term project.

I think I blanked this shitty episode out of my mind. It was annoying since you had to sign up for late night usage slots and stuff... unnecessary medieval computing torture from the 1970s. But interestingly enough... the terminals had touchscreens. Real crappy.
