“I’ll do whatever I want so long as I’m good by my standards but it’s unfair if everyone doesn’t recognize me as good by their standards as well” is not a tenable position. But it’s getting increasingly popular. We really need that extreme-ghosting tech to make this work.

I think this doesn’t take into account the empirical descriptions of this condition- which I think is not a disease in the truest sense but an evolved and terrifying lack of remorse and empathy.. it is not possible to operate on a preference system unawares, imo

The ignorant should be included in the definition of a sociopath. I argue all the anti-socials and everyone who we could consider bad people are ignorant. A good person must have the prerequisite of being intelligent enough to predict the long-term consequences of their actions

that's interesting - when I read Gervais I assumed most folks were unaware of themselves, including the sociopaths. they're simply good at those things in the same way the others play their respective games without knowing or realizing it
