One difference between the right and left media complexes is that the ideological party line of the former is actively choreographed by Murdoch etc but the latter is much more of an emergent effect of insularity.

Ironically, the left media complex rhymes sociologically with the right “base” — it is homogeneous (by class rather than race), geographically low-mobility, and has an insecure identity based on college (attending but never outgrowing it rather than never attending)

They’re Trumpies reflected in a Jungian funhouse mirror. That’s why the two groups are in a death-embrace with each other. They define each other. I imagine a scene with New Yorker writer and Trumpie, one saying to the other “we are the same, you and I”
