aite Zizek gets his first clear own on Peterson with the whole "I don't underestimate evil" thing. And I agree, Peterson's mission of "we just need to restore Judeo-Christian responsibility" is absurd (not to mention "Judeo-Christian" as a concept was invented in the 80s).

huh Peterson is actually sort of correct about the postmodernists, at least based on my read of Lyotard. "be skeptical of grand narratives! But hey what if we Marxism". He seems to be walking into a trap re hierarchies tho...

During Q&A I'm seeing these differences that seem to come from their jobs: Peterson as a clinician vs Zizek as a social theorist. Of course the former will favor individual problems and the latter will favor social ones.

That said, I feel more sympathetic toward Peterson's stance here, that solving personal problems deeply enough will also solve social problems. I feel like there's a helplessness among the Left that both seems to cause them personal distress as well as ineffecuality.
