Has anybody seriously studied statistics and developmental psychology of belief in Santa Claus? Like distribution of ages when kids stop believing, whether it’s gradual or sudden, rituals around it etc?

The rituals part sounds the most interesting/relevant, since I’m sure a lot of it has to do with parenting. (Thinking about in the context of having parents who didn’t want to do the pretend ritual, and consequently being exposed to it in a different way through school.)

Geography? Common at xmas in Manhattan to be on a main street and see half a dozen Santas at the same time. A few of them sober. Followed by explaining "helpers" and "santa suits" to your kid (all is not as it seems). The age at which kids talk with older kids at school/home?
