Is there a name for what seems to be a sitcom genre about kinda unpleasant people? You’re the worst, broad city, difficult people, always sunny in Philadelphia...
Maybe I’m imagining it. Shared feature is I don’t like the characters enough to watch. Kinda like Jersey Shore++

Seinfeld sitcoms? It was kind of the progenitor for these shows, but I don't think there's a specific name for the genre because they generally follow other sitcom genre forms and tropes.

Always sunny and broad city are both brilliant in their own ways. I suggest revisiting them

Don't forget The League, and one of the originals in the genre: Aqua Teen Hunger Force! I agree though, it's getting tiring.

All sitcoms are about unpleasant or flawed people. Otherwise they aren't funny. They just end up cloyingly sentimental shmaltz.

Misanthrocom?
The genre is an outlet for frustration and alienation, especially of the Jeffersonian middle class, that might otherwise be channeled into more “productive” pursuits such as political activism or entrepreneurial striving.

The only reason someone wouldn’t like Always Sunny is if they take life too seriously
