The (generally good) responses here make me suspect anyone who can’t do this has no economic value. Which doesn’t mean they have no human value of course.

I find that question is what usually kills entry level people looking for work. Their entire experience to date is in schools, where the question never, ever, arises. And so they have no way to indicate to potential employers how they can create value for them.
