What are good restaurants in SF for conversations? Almost everywhere remotely nice is horrendously loud.

I think a relevant related question worth answering: why does the market seem to suggest most people prefer or don’t care about loud restaurants?

Damn. I’ve just been annoying people by arguing to that loudness facilitates intimacy and they’re over thinking it. This is more rigorous

IMO, as a restaurant owner now - most restaurant owners don’t have the money or don’t even think about the value of acoustic panels and sound deadening. It can be very expensive. Also, aesthetically, cost-effective acoustics don’t easily match current restaurant design trends
