What are good restaurants in SF for conversations? Almost everywhere remotely nice is horrendously loud.

I tend to think the solution to problems like this is: everyone should choose to toss a coin (it's a coordination/communication problem and coin tosses solve this). Notably, we shouldn't try to figure what others will do; we should figure what *we* should do. Why not?
