Lol people are clearly too used to interview-style “what’s your greatest faux-weakness” questions to really tackle this similarsounding but very different one easily
More like “what trait generally viewed as a weakness do you flaunt as a strengthhttps://twitter.com/vgr/status/1110027279676014592 …

Is "generally viewed as negative" a true negative? You're asking something incredibly specific

On my backpack. Folks seem to think I am secretly bragging about being just very thoughtful. I mean I will obsess over decisions for weeks beyond diminishing marginal returns.pic.twitter.com/wMFXyyPIXD

PS the follow up question is how can you reposition yourself so these weaknesses can be helpful? PPS this is business strategy (in the Taylor sense) for individuals?

I found your first tweet kind of inscrutable, as a lot of the examples didn't appear genuinely "ownable", especially smugness. If you can "own" something, it's because everyone knows it's not really a truly agreed upon weakness / negative. This made the demand feel nonsensical.

Inscrutable and nonsensical is another bug that vgr has successfully magi-thinked into a feature
