Childlike enthusiasm for even not-so-useful things, with innocence/naivete - this cannot be cultivated or adopted, only retained if you are already blessed/cursed with it

I fail a lot at things. Maybe because I try a lot of things I’m not good at. And keep failing until I gain competency. Anyway, I’m comfortable being a failure. I’m immune to failure. Other people’s failings bother me less. Somehow I’ve overridden my childhood perfectionist code.

🙄 mediocre and smug isn’t controversial, Jim, it’s default I’m comfortable with the inherent compromises in any system or policy. I can appreciate a system that produces failures if overall it’s a utilitarian gain. I’m comfortable making value judgements.
