FTP suggests a “moving objects between containers” metaphor
SSH/Telnet suggests some sort of “Sticking hands and eyes through a wormhole” metaphor
What metaphor would you use for github commits and automated deploys? Feels like dominoes to me.
Serverless functions?

GitHub is a ledger - the entire history of a project that can branch and join. It is a genetic ecosystem where the hosts benefit from their neighbors' immune responses.

I like a jack in the box for automated deploys.

github commit and automated deploys -> a chain of Rube Goldbergian contraptions
Serverless functions -> offering sacrifices (zip files) to Cthulhu

I think I prefer Rube-Goldberg for CI/CD pipelines, in the style of Wallace & Gromit's contraptions. We pass from one tool to another: if build is dominoes, does that feel similar enough to deployment or automated tests for them to also be dominoes?
