To give context, our house rent for the 1BHK flat back in those days was Rs. 500/month. So Rs. 50K was HUGE amount for me, and I could never even dream of earning and repaying my relatives/friends no matter what I did.

We reach the boss's house at 3.30 am. He's got a 1 BHK small standalone house. We knock on the door, and he opens. He's surprised to see us. We start off pushing our way in, seat ourselves on the couch and start off accusing him of stealth. We showed him the receipts.

At first he denied, but then after a few angry expletives we throw at him - he acknowledges. He says needed the money blah blah. He promises to pay it back. I don't see how, because looking around his house he also doesn't seem well off.

So we made him write & sign a confession letter that we dictated. Then we told him that we'll take something away from his house. We looked around the living room, the kitchen, the bathrooms.

Now being the stupid kind, we decided to go for the washing machine. It looked big, and we reasoned that it must be worth quite a lot. So we disconnected the pipes etc. and dragged it out of his home. Then we locked his front door from outside. Wait for it.

It dawned upon us, that our getaway vehicle was still a stupid Luna. So we had to fit two people and a washing machine (WM) on the Luna. A washing machine is gigantic in dimensions. Big F*cking Problem.

So we're spending precious time trying to figure this out. Should we leave the WM behind and head back? Should I leave the friend behind? Who stays back because no way in hell can you fit all three on a Luna. Permutations & combinations.

I had my friend sit backseat on the Luna, then we put the WM and there was no space left for me. So I stood on the foot rests one leg on each side. But couldn't balance. So I sat down on the foot rest, crossing both my legs. Hoping that I won't have to halt the vehicle. Tricky.

Drove 35 kms back on the Luna, with friend, WM, me, and the boss's confession letter with us. Reached back to our apartment building at 6.30 am. The watchman wondering where did they get the WM from at this ungodly hour.

How I broke the news to mom is story for another day. We ended up selling the WM for Rs. 3500. It was a semi-automatic one. That's the story of the WM abduction. Thanks for reading.

Replying to @vgr
Nope, never heard from him. Paid all the relatives eventually by breaking some Indira Vikas Patras.
