Did this thread last night. After sleeping on it, I'm even more convinced that the biggest thing the climate conversation is missing is a philosophical leveling up to a sort of anthropocene consciousness. Green Enlightenment.

I’m in the non-apocalyptic camp of climate change believers. I don’t believe even the worst case will make the world uninhabitable. Let’s say that’s a 5% likelihood scenario of maybe 90% species loss and even 90% human population decline. But what do those numbers *mean*?

Eh. All this cosmic apotheosis wears off quickly, leaving an aftertaste of phrases like "climate change believer". You don't believe in gravity, and the more people think it's a matter of belief, the less the odds that i'll get to fly a zeppelin among the clouds of Saturn someday
