One of the rare misfire jokes of old/classic Simpsons was Bart's class being taken to visit the boring "box factory" while right next door was the exciting "toy factory" they didn't go to. Weird assumption that if X is more fun than Y, factory(X) is more fun than factory(Y).

Box (and paper napkin) factories can randomly explode due to high levels of paper dust in the air. Tell the kids that and its much more exciting.

Fully agree, it's probably inversely correlated. Banal everyday things are often highly automated or even have exotic machinery to produce them very cheaply en masse.
