Oddly, "ironically" doesn't need to mean "sarcastically", according to the Oxford: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/ironically …. But "ironic" just means "sarcastic". Which seems ironic, but I guess it isn't.

Wrong. Irony has no inherent intent. It's more raw. Sarcasm *uses* irony to mock or convey contempt. Tragic irony is clearly not sarcastic.
