Was it riding the way of STEMland sensing the threat of mandatory ethical training and they feel that this is bad factoring, since they don't make any important decisions anyway?

Two cultures is nearly as kayfabe as culture wars. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

What’s the problem for which “bridging the two cultures” is allegedly the Solution? And who is alleging this?

actually good thread tho. the people bridging cultures one is simplistic but extremely well articulated and a great starting point.

I wish the editorials about engineers needing to take literature courses in order to understand human emotions got as much scrutiny.

Even if 'careless', it was good to see someone say this. Can't count the number of times I've had humanities friends make broad vilifying statements about tech. They truly believe tech is full of heartless tech bros and that more 'humanities' types are needed.
-
Like you said, there are plenty of humanities types in tech already like Thiel and Karl. (And me! I was a Philosophy major). In general, I find conversations about morality among tech friends to be nuanced and thoughtful.
