Somebody, possibly , needs to a write a definitive debunking of the Myth of the Healing Bridge. If anything, anybody crossing the bridge in either direction is far more likely to fuel the widening gyre

If you cross the STEM/humanities divide at all, chances are a) you’re a contrarian who’s picked beefs in native turf, bringing a grudge to the other side b) have dangerous skills and weapons the other side is not used to c) want to use relative differentiation for personal gain

STEM sociopaths going the other way discover that real power vacuums exist and holy shit there are big, bold moves that can be engineered and holy shit, huge hack possibilities are obscured by innocent types who think the limit of action is talking and winning word games

I wish I knew where to find tech people who just give power away. It seems like there’s certain limits where you really have to look and act like them and tell them what they already want to hear socially & politically.

Doesn’t work that way. You have to take it from where it’s lying neglected in blind spots labeled “boring shit”. Ask what they have filed under “boring shit” and invariably they’ll have a few keys to empires lying around they’ll be grateful to get rid of. If they’re any good.
