And yeah images do take up lots of space, making them prime vessels for amplifying messages that "should" fit in the 280 limit. Yet the space *is* justified for something like art, where the image's detail is the whole point. Curious if/how you differ with that classification!

It’s not the specific image but the entropy in the Twitter feed context. I can glance at a mostly text feed and get a quick sense of what people are talking about. Pictures disrupt that parsing logic unless you’re inside a thread of them. Instagram has the reverse problem.

Ie on Instagram, people who post photos of text fragments annoy me, since I’m in image-stream processing mode.
