I’m surprised anybody has any doubts about the Bay Area being a fundamentally no-holds-barred capitalism hub, no different from NY or London on that front. Anti-capitalist voices get a lot of local airtime and signaling bandwidth but not a lot of actual power.

Bay Area counterculture has had a huge impact on social and environmental causes but arguably, very little on economic matters. High taxes aren’t enough. Anti-capitalism requires more complex constraining of corporations that is just not there.

Presumably you are talking about this is a way that ignores -extreme constraints on housing -constraints on micromobility companies -dictates on companies down to how they bus their employees or who can and can’t have corporate cafeterias -regulations curtailing Airbnb -etc

What's an example of an anti-capitalist geo-hub ? Seems economic matters/thoughts are a fairly complex thing as you point out which probably might be nation or societal class (poor, middle class) specific ?
