Damn, I'm turning into the sort of old professor type who uses the same lecture notes from 30 years ago and everything they say smells like mothballs. And I don't even have an academic job, let alone tenure.

Well, they still form the core of all universities in the US, even though adjunct labor does a lot of the actual teaching work

Always be learning new tricks.
I try to extend my narrative into some new paradigm, analogy, area etc at least once a year.
Turns out you learn a lot that way and often dig up some novel thread that no one is talking about.
Follow your nose. Do what got you there, but again.
