Weird medium-is-message effect: I can only take money as seriously as the work I do to earn it. This means if I want to be more serious with spending/saving/investment, I have to earn it in more serious ways. Anybody else experience this?

in general I think middle-class people subscribe to just-world beliefs more than the very rich or poor. on one hand it's a very flawed model (although OK for predicting their slice of experiences). otoh it probably makes for a better society the more people subscribe to it.

I was making $65k/yr at a startup that was making a bad product/service that nobody asked for or needed. I spent it all on fancy cocktails and dinners, AND I was running up credit card debt. My rent was super low at the time. I hated that job. I was utterly miserable.
