I have decided that "post truth" can be translated into "curved zeitgeist". Now I just have to map the rest of relativity theory to blogging and collect my igNobel prize.

Special theory of relativistic blogging: the speed of the stream is constant for all observers and equal to the maximal-FOMO rate of content consumption.

Textual *density* (in informational terms) is what determines the mass of a piece of text on the internet. It warps stream space-time around it. So a "trending topic" is really like gravitational lensing. Your feed will be distorted by it.

Sometimes you'll see 2 images of a meme: via the left wing and right wing max-FOMO outrage-response paths for example. You'll see double or triple in your stream depending on the amount of lensing going on.

The map I'm developing now situates ribbonfarm at the mouth of a wormhole that I think of as the 'great weirding' wormhole to the future. The mouth is 3 piece-wise locally flat map areas around the mouth.

Planning sketches for new ribbonfarm map, which is conceptually the triangular mouth of the Great Weirding wormhole. The triangle uses my goat-crow-rat triangle as scaffolding.

The limit of solipsism is what a friend of mine called "vanishing past your own event horizon". Late style is vanishing past your own event horizon in writing. Elderblogging is hopefully a wormhole into a continued infinite game instead.

If I degenerate into complete incomprehensibility in the next couple of years, you'll know I've gone blackhole. But if I start making sense again, it was a wormhole. Only way to figure out which it is is to dive in :D

If you want to grok where I'm going with this thread and the previous one on frenet-serret equations without the nerdy pop-math/pop-science analogies, it's really just getting at the form-content coupling that's created by the internet.

Sometimes the universe gives you a sign that you're on the right path. I was wondering how to apply metaphor of frenet-serret formulas (coordinate-free ways of describing curves) to twitter and blog threads, and look what I found on the wiki page: RIBBONS! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frenet%E2

One of the deeper mistakes I made in my brief career as a product manager of web products is to not fully realize the extent to which the web's form is shaped by the content it invites, in a chicken-egg evolution. The medium is the message AND the message is the medium.
