Though overt climate skepticism is most prominent in the US, it's a mistake to think it's the only stronghold. About half the world is a climate skeptic by revealed preferences. Like most of the EU, going by the move away from nuclear. Even China is showing signs of blinking.

That would be dark poetry. But there are faster decarbonization bridge routes than nuclear. NH3 produced with solar thermal/PV and stranded wind looks similar to gas on btu basis. Distribution infrastructure exists and existing engines can be retrofitted as dual fuel.
