Though overt climate skepticism is most prominent in the US, it's a mistake to think it's the only stronghold. About half the world is a climate skeptic by revealed preferences. Like most of the EU, going by the move away from nuclear. Even China is showing signs of blinking.

If indeed decarbonization is impossible without nuclear, then Fukushima would be a poetically appropriate landmark event in the uncontrolled transition of Earth to the anthropocene. The only country to be literally nuked accidentally nukes the future via a nuked nuclear reactor.

think the eu shift away from nuclear is more about waste / public perception /taking advantage of Renewables / potential fukushima-ING etc than skepticism over climate catastrophe. what makes you think differently?
